| Who should attend? |
Anyone who is interested in sailing but who has never had the opportunity to give it a try. This two day courses will give you a good grounding in sailing, spending time at sea and the basic knowledge to start your sailing experiences. |
| What experience do I need? |
There are no pre-requisites for joining this course. |
| What topics are covered? |
Enjoy a good sail, gain knowledge of sea terms, personal safety, rope work and basic helming. Learn how to live on a yacht! |
| How much time is involved? |
2 days/1 night liveaboard. Courses start at 10am on day one, returning at 5pm on day two and ending with a beer on the yacht at the marina berth. |
| What do I need to bring? |
Soft, non-slip, non-marking shoes, comfortable clothes, a warm sweater, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, swimsuit, towel, sleeping bag, toiletries & medications, change of clothes, a beer or two if required. Pack in a soft bag. onshore luggage storage available if needed at own risk. |
| What do
we provide? |
All safety gear, hot or cold drinks, all meals and snacks. Good quality wet weather gear can be hired for $20. |
| What certificate will I get and what can I do with it? |
On satisfactory completion of the course you will receive an RYA Start Yachting Certificate, the world's best recognised qualification for recreational yachting. This course can also form the first part of your Competent Crew qualification. |
| How many
on the course? |
A maximum of 4 students plus your RYA licensed skipper/tutor John Moore.
A minimum of 2 students are required
before the course can be confirmed. |
| What if the weathers bad? |
If your instructor decides it would be unsafe to sail and cancels, we will arrange another suitable time.
If your timetable precludes this, we refund
100% of the price. |
